The Traumas of Law Enforcement
Concerns of Police Survivors educates America’s law enforcement agencies about appropriate response to officers and their families affected by line-of-duty traumas through the “Traumas of Law Enforcement” training. C.O.P.S. presents on average 7 segments of the “Traumas of Law Enforcement” trainings at various locations across the country each year. This training has been presented to over 10,000 individuals from the law enforcement community. The Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice, has provided funding for the 2012 “Traumas of Law Enforcement” trainings. At these trainings, information that is vitally important to America’s law enforcement agencies regarding appropriate response to line-of-duty death, disability, critical incidents, and police suicide will be presented over the 3-day, 21-hours of class time.
