Ways to Donate
In order for C.O.P.S.' to provide programs and services to the more than 15,000 surviving families of America's fallen law enforcement officers, contributions from idividuals, organizations, foundations, corporations, and special events are necessary. The following are ways that you can help insure that C.O.P.S. can continue our programs for surviving families currently using C.O.P.S. services.

You may make a gift to C.O.P.S. on-line. Payment methods offered are: credit card, Check, bill me, and securites. If you use your credit card, "LIC ORG" is what will appear on your credit card statement. If you choose to give securities on-line, Independent Givers of America will act as the broker for the transfer. Click the "Give Online" button to be taken to the secure server to make your gift to C.O.P.S. today. An acknowledgement will be sent when your gift is received.
Law enforcement organizations donating to C.O.P.S. will become honorary Partners in Law Enforcement and their name will be displayed on a bannner at National Police Week in Washington, DC.
CFC - United Way - State Employee Campaigns
C.O.P.S. is a participating member of Human Care Charities of America and a proud participant of the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). C.O.P.S. is #11183 in the CFC and United Way of the National Capital Area. C.O.P.S. is included in many other United Way appeals, corporate campaigns and State Employee Charitable Campaigns.
Individuals, corporations, and labor and fraternal police organizations can make donations to C.O.P.S. Many sponsor special events to raise funds. Donations can also be made through payroll deductions to the CFC (#11183), State Employee Charitable Campaigns (SECC), or your local United Way.
The CFC number (#11183) is nationwide for all local CFC campaigns. C.O.P.S. must be accepted, however, in each local United Way campaign, so a local "cheerleader" is needed to get the ball rolling. Check with your local United Way campaign office to get their regulations that would allow employee donations to be designated for C.O.P.S. The C.O.P.S. National Office will provide whatever information they need.
C.O.P.S. has been approved for participation in numerous state employee campaigns through its affiliation with Independent Charities of America. Read the state campaign brochure carefully to find C.O.P.S. If C.O.P.S. is not listed, check with your local campaign headquarters to see if you can designate your donations to C.O.P.S. Contact the C.O.P.S. National Office for any additional assistance.
